Valcre Office: How to Update your Valcre Add-in

Keeping your Valcre Add-In up to date ensures you have immediate access to the latest productivity features right where you work in Excel (Valuation Workbook) or Word (Valuation Report)—so you can breeze through reports without interruption.

Prerequisites

• Subscription Tier: Professional or Enterprise
• Existing Add-In: Any previous version of the Valcre Add-In installed
• Administrator Permissions: Rights to install or modify software on your machine (or IT support on standby)
• Office Version: Microsoft Office 2013 through Office 365 on Windows 10 through Windows 11
  • (Office for Mac is not supported)
• Internet Connection: Required to download the latest update

How to Guide

Step 1: Launch Office

• Open Microsoft Excel or Microsoft Word.
   

Step 2: Access the Valcre Ribbon

• Select the Valcre ribbon in the toolbar.
• Under Support, choose Check for Updates.
   

Step 3: Install the Update

• If an update is available, a prompt will appear.

  

• Select Yes to download and install the update.
   

Step 4: Restart Microsoft Office

• Once the update completes, save any current files and restart Excel/Word.
• Reopen the application, go back to Support → Check for Updates, and confirm you’re on the latest version.
  

Troubleshooting & Tips
 

1. Installation Fails
   1. Ensure you’re running Office as an administrator. You may need to contact your company's IT department for add-in updates
      • Are you an IT lead and would like advanced notice of add-in releases? Please connect with your Client Success Manager at Valcre to be added to the Add-in early access email.
   2. Temporarily disable any antivirus or firewall that might block the installer.
   3. If issues persist, contact your IT team or reach out to Valcre Support.
2. Windows Protected Your PC error
   1. Select the More Info link found at the end of the paragraph
   2. Select Run Anyway to proceed with the installation
