Valcre Add-In: Report Ribbon Cheat Sheet

The Valcre Ribbon in the Report template is designed to allow you to link your workbook, additional Valcre files, and any other files stored locally into your report. Use this guide as your cheat sheet to utilize everything in the Valcre Ribbon of the Valcre Report Template

Prerequisites 

  1. Subscription Tier: Professional or Enterprise
    • Please note:
      • Clear Links  is only available for Enterprise subscriptions at this time.
      • Generate Reports is only available for Portfolio Rollup add-on subscriptions.
      • If you are interested in upgrading your subscription, please contact your Client Success Manager

Sync Workbook

Choose Workbook
With the 2.0.10.0 Valcre Office Add-in, syncing a workbook to your report is a breeze:

  1. Select Choose Workbook on the Valcre ribbon.
  2. Navigate to and select the workbook file you want to link.
  3. Your report will now be linked to the workbook, and is ready to sync with Update Links. The Choose Workbook button will hide once successfully linked.

If you later need to link a different workbook, go to Linked Files and select Change File next to your current link.

Update Links

Update Selected: Allows you to only update the links of anything you have highlighted in your report 2025-01-09_18-51-06.PNG

Update All: Updates all the links within your report. Use the drop down to designate if you wish to update all text, table, chart, or all links, as well as select the speed and quality you wish you use to update the links.

  • Update Using the Fastest Speed- syncs the quickest but generates lower-quality charts and images. This option is ideal for when you are in draft mode and making updates within the file
  • Update Using Highest Quality- takes longer to sync but generates higher quality charts and images. This option is ideal for your final version. 

Linked Files: Shows all workbooks currently linked to this report. This helps you verify you've got the right file(s) before updating data or refreshing your report. 

  • Change linked files: Select Linked Files, then select the arrow to the right of the currently linked workbook, followed by Change File. Select the new file from the file finder.

    Do not select Unlink file unless you want to convert to a plain Word document- removing all content controls. This is only used when your report is completed and you would like to send a Word document (as opposed to a PDF) and cannot be reversed. 

 

Links

Insert Links: Allows you to insert any named range link into the report such as the Direct Cap table or a specific text link. 2025-01-09_18-51-06.PNG
Change Case: Allows you to set your case setting for the entire report, making formatting a breeze.
Open in Excel: Use this when you would like to review or edit a section of your report that is linked in excel. Highlight the area you want to open in Excel, and select the button. 2025-01-09_18-51-06.PNG
Highlight: Enables highlighting for text that is linked in the Workbook. You can also choose to show Unused Links to ensure your report has all necessary information.

Clear*: Allows you to clear all the content within the links of this report.

* Only available for Enterprise Subscriptions

 

Insert

Insert Reports: Allows you to insert specific reports from your job record such as a PSA, Datasheets, and an Invoice. 2025-01-09_18-51-06.PNG
Insert Files: Allows you to insert specific files and images that you have added to the job record in Valcre Online. 2025-01-09_18-51-06.PNG
Insert Documents: Bring in documents and PDF’s that are stored locally on your computer. 2025-01-09_18-51-06.PNG

Generate Reports: 

Only available if your subscription includes the Portfolio Rollup add-on.

Generate Reports is used to create a word document for all Valcre Valuation Workbooks saved to a specific folder on your local device, such as creating 8 versions of the Addenda Template for each of the 8 properties that are part of the portfolio you are assessing.

Report

Navigation Pane: 

New in the 2.0.10.0 Valcre Add-in—jump around your report in a flash:

  • On the Valcre ribbon, select Navigation Pane.
  • The pane opens on the left, listing every major report section (e.g., Executive Summary, DCF Analysis, Charts).
  • Select any section name to instantly scroll your document to that point.

 Once the pane is open, you can collapse it by selecting Navigation Pane again—no more “where did that section go?” panic.

 

Valcre

Support: Access our help center, view logs, or check for updates. 2025-01-09_18-51-06.PNG

Live Chat
New in the 2.0.10.0 Valcre Add-in—now you can chat with our support team without ever leaving your workbook!

  1. Locate Live Chat
    • On the Valcre ribbon, select Live Chat.
  2. Start your conversation
    • A chat window will open to the right.
    • Type your question and press Enter or select the Send icon.
    • Our support team will reply right there in your Report template
