Understanding Data Types in the Valuation Workbook

Automated Data from Valcre Online

  • Fields with green text in the workbook are populated directly by pulling relevant data from Valcre Online records.
  • These fields update dynamically and require no additional input from the user as long as the corresponding Valcre records are complete and accurate.
  • Should you change anything in Valcre Online related to a job you have already loaded in the workbook, you will need to reload the job in the workbook.
    • Reload the job by selecting Load Job from the Valcre Ribbon again. That will bring the new and updated values from that job record into the Valuation Workbook.

Manual Data Entry Fields

  • Some areas in the workbook are not linked to Valcre Online and must be completed manually by the user.
  • These fields may include specific contextual or qualitative information that cannot be derived automatically from existing records.
  • Manual entry fields will be indicated with cells shaded in yellow

  • Fields with drop-down options will be shaded in blue.

FAQs

Q: I have a green text field that hasn’t populated anything from Valcre Online.

A: This indicates that the corresponding field in Valcre Online is blank. Fix this by adding the applicable value in Valcre Online, then reload the job in the workbook so the green field pulls in the updated value.

Q: Can I manually type over fields that come from Valcre Online

A: Only if the cell is shaded yellow. Yellow shaded cell with the green text that indicates you can override what is coming from Valcre Online

  • Note: Manual overrides will be overwritten when/if you reload the job unless the field is updated accordingly in Valcre Online, as Valcre Online is the source of truth for those fields.

Q: I'm done with the workbook, how do I remove shading from the charts and tables?

A: Once your workbook is finalized, select Turn Workbook Shading Off (White Out) from the top of the Home sheet. This will remove all cell shading within charts before synching your Workbook and Report, ensuring your presentation looks polished.
