Valcre Office: Updating the Trusted Certificate

Valcre has updated our security certificate, which is used by Excel to ensure the Valuation Workbook came from a trusted source and can have Macros enabled. This guide will walk you through updating your Add-in and Workbook to include the new certificate. 

Step 1: Update your Valcre add-in. 

There are 2 options: auto-update from the ribbon or download from the web.

  • 1.2: Auto-Update from the Valcre ribbon:  

Open a Valcre Workbook and update the Valcre ribbon, by selecting Support from the menu, followed by Check for Updates. Select Yes in the Update Available pop-up. 

  • 1.3: download from the web:  

Close any Office apps and install the newest add-in: Version 2.0.8.1 found in the Downloads section of Valcre Online.

  • Once the add-in has been installed, if you check your Trusted Publishers>Certificates folder, The Valcre, Inc certificate will be loaded there. (This folder can be found by entering certmrg.msc into the search field of your computer's start menu.)

Pro tip: When downloading the add-in, if you get a warning similar to the one below (this may vary based on your device and anti-virus software).

Unblock it, by right-selecting the file downloaded, selecting properties, and then select unblock. 


This should allow you to open and install the add-in and proceed with the above steps. 

 

Step 2: Download the newest version of the Valcre Workbook from the Downloads section of Valcre Online. 

  • Download and open the most recent version of the Valcre Workbook. This can be found in the downloads section of Valcre Online.
