Hospitality: Using the Latent Demand Sheet

This section includes tables that can be set up to estimate Assumptions for Unaccommodated Demand and Assumptions for Induced Demand

This sheet is set up for manual entry. This sheet will be hidden by default, but can be unhidden easily for use. This sheet is not needed for setup and is optional based on the user's opinion of applicability.

How-to Guide

Assumptions for Unaccommodated Demand

Step 1: Select whether the Average Occupancy is over 70% using the dropdown above the table

Step 2: Complete the table

  • The Number of Hotels in the Set/s field will populate from the Data Sets sheet
  • Complete the Hotels Considered, Number of Turn-Aways per Night, Nights per Week, and Weeks rows.
  • The remaining rows will automatically calculate based on the values entered in the yellow-shaded cells

Assumptions for Induced Demand

Step 1: Review the values in the first section and update as needed

  • Days per Year Opened, Days in Peak, and Days in Mid can be updated as needed
  • Days in Lo will automatically calculate based on the above values

Step 2: Enter the names of the demand drivers that will cause an increase in occupancy

The values entered here will flow into the table below

 

Step 3: Complete the Capture by Day of the Week

Enter the Capture by Day of the Week for each of your sources, within the Peak, Mid, and Lo tables.
